FORVIA designs and manufactures high pressure hydrogen Type 3 cylinders pressurized at 35MPa or 70 MPa for automotive applications. These cylindrical vessels are composed of a lightweight carbon fiber composite structure and a metallic liner with high thermal conductivity.
CLD, a FORVIA company, was awarded “863 China National High-tech Research and Development Project of the eleventh Five-Year Plan” in 2007 and has successfully developed and produced hydrogen tanks for vehicles.
The Type 3 hydrogen tanks manufactured by our company were used on the tour-carts during the 2010 World Expo in Shanghai, which won the second prize of Shanghai/National Science and Technology Progress Award.
In 2011, the project “Key Technology and Application of 70MPa High Pressure Hydrogen Gas Storage System” won the first prize of Chinese Ministry of Education Technology Progress Award.
So far, our 70MPa hydrogen tanks have finished the homologation testing, which is the first in China.
